Description
Another shot from the fair last summer; this is a dahlia, kinda reminded me of Dale Chihuly's* work.
*Dale Chihuly, is an American glass sculptor and entrepreneur. His works are considered unique to the field of blown glass, "moving it into the realm of large-scale sculpture". Wikipedia

yes it does look like a Chihuly, esp in the way you caught the yellow highlights. Another beautiful closeup of plant life from you (I still have your cabbage in my head), and cropped to make it burst in our faces. Beautiful light on the right-side petals---all those luminous yellows. The red petals look almost painted. Beautiful work. (And I won't let you go without singing a chorus from "Hellooooo Dahlia, yes helloooooo Dahlia, it's so nice to have you back where you belong...")

A very beautiful & sumptuous shot & I also agree that it looks like a Chihuly piece. Though it seems strange or maybe ironic to think that a natural object reminds you of a piece of art based on natural objects...

This is a lovely clos up. I really like the highlights. Have you been to the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle? Its just across from the Space Needle.
