Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I think you've posted other versions of this, haven't you? It looks familiar. I like how you return to a place to see if it's changed. It has beauty, and your treatment makes it glow eerily in the dark---it has the feeling of an inverted photo (inverting the hues), even though it's not. Good work with the whites...and the trees glow eerily in the background. Reminds of the Bates Hotel (from Psycho). (I think you've posted two places, in the last few days, that looked a little like that famous spooky hotel.) Either that or "Old Dark House". Spooky and beautiful shot, Marilyn. Great to see you here a few days in a row!

Fantastic Work,

I like your postwork (especially that deep black background), which I agree gives it an eerie look & feel. I can imagine satanic rites or supernatural events going on inside...

I'd love to live there. It looks like it's just waiting for someone to move in and give it life!

Ha! I thought the same as Mark, but I know which house he's talking about, and it's on the Atlantic coast. Do you remember that house? You should find the picture and compare the two to see how similar and/or different they are. :)
