Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Well done!

Next to my animals, untouched nature is my favorite. Love mushrooms like this. As a child I used to imagine that there were tiny people living in them. Since is has no fur or feathers I will have to pass on the ID attempt 😊 Was surprised to get an email to notify me in your post. I hope this continues.

(when you say you're waiting for someone to 'ID' these, my sub-grade sense of humor immediately looks for something not only not-funny, but utterly irrelevant...so I'll spare you today) (but don't think I didn't think about it!) Wonderful angle with lots of darkness around it, making these appear like they popped into existence in the last minute or so, which is not too far from the truth...And if I say 'fine grouping', I realize they grouped themselves but your angle and light brought out the grouping splendidly. A big cascade of a shot. Fine work, Andrea.

I dont know the name of these, but I am sure Andrea can... oh wait... this IS Andrea posting these ;-) But I think I got a picture of similar shrooms in Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/helanker/5485214838/in/album-72157625828944943/ Well I know, that wont help you. The shrooms I saw, were growing near an old stump. BTW, in the hope of being able to support you for once, I went through my big Shroom book, but unfortunately, didnt find them. Wonderful shot, Andrea.

Fantastic find and shot. The title fits perfectly. I'm not a mushroom expert but I think it could be "lubricous Pholiota" (Pholiota lubrica).

We don't have this species here, but I think you are very close!

Shots like these always remind me of the Chinese Dance from Disney's 'Fantasia'. This is a wonderful find and a fantastic capture. Sort of like a mushroom high rise.
