I as the NYSDOT inspector, told the contractor that the beam was compromised when the deck was removed and he should not lift it. But the contractor refused to to listen to me and he took it on himself to "pull it" anyways. The results was as I had predicted, I broke in the middle and fell in the river. Fortunately, I warned the workers on it to get the hell off of it before it fell.
