Description

I finally saw Jurassic World the other day; it's interesting but the scaley velociraptors just looked so wrong- without their feathers. I guess this is doubly so has for the last decade and a half every single reconstruction of a Dromaesaur shows them with a thick covering of fluffy protofeathers. Ironic given how the first Jurassic Park film was so cutting edge with its portrayal of dinosaurs, they may as well have had a tail dragging T-rex. The film makers must have been aware of this irony, given that the opening shot of the movie consists of a close up of what looks like a dino foot, only to pull back and reveal it to be a black bird standing on a drive way. There was also a cute in-story explanation where the chief geneticist guy tells another character that they have always plugged the gaps in the Dino's genomes with random genetic material. 'if they were pure bred they'd look a lot different from the way we've reconstructed them.' Hence why all the raptors had an inexplicable alopecia..

Nice image. But can't the fellow figure out that all they want to do is give him a hug and a kiss? As for feathered dinos. Look at the fossil record - the feathers are there, well preserved on feathered dinos. But where are the well preserved feathers on a T.Rex,a Velociraptor, a brontosaurus? There aren't any. The feather story here is an obstinate refusal to concede that these were probably hairy like an elephant, a hippopotamus or rhinoceros. Fur doesn't fossilize well, but feathers, due to their complex construction, do fossilize well. I wish the paleontologists would get past their hang-up about hair. These huge creatures were warm blooded or they would never have survived. Good image! Do we get to see him be kissed and hugged? Keep up the good work! :-)

Great work on the scene I can only imagine that they are having him run for a while until they catch him and invite him for dinner

I'm thinking he is definitely Dino feed. It's all conjecture we weren't there so it's a mass of possibilities.

Really a cool render that makes me say "sucks to be him." You did a fine job putting this together. Really nicely done.

LOL! Good one. Yeah, people like to play with the reality of dinosaurs. At least they tried to address the subject in this movie when B.D. Wong's character said "they don't even look like they really were because we had to fill in the gaps in the DNA."
