Hi Guys...
I'm RGUS, a 3D artist from New Zealand hence the Kiwi Avatar.
I've been using Poser since 2004 and recently begun to use DAZ Studio.
Originally I used the render engines bundled with the base software and it was not until Octane was available did I change engines. I believe iRAY, now supplied with DAZ Studio, does a very good job. However, my development has stayed with Octane since I use both Poser and Studio with Octane for each as the main render engine.
Enjoy!

Congratulations. Like that you have not overdone it with the rays/dust. Still have to find out how to use volumetric lighting in DS, but your render surely spurs me on.

nicely done! good lighting effects. The only issue I found is that the image would greatly be improved with an ambient occlusion pass. At the moment her feet look as though they are floating on the carpet. The posing of her arms (especially the right) is a bit cramped. If you pictured her as a silhouette it is easier to see what I am talking about. Creating more negative space in this area would improve the image drastically. Sorry for the long winded comment, Keep up the good work

Wow, that is fast for the quality of the light--I love how volumetrics look but I am all about the fast render-- so I have always put them in post, though having them in the render looks so much better. I like the way the glow propagates into the light, too. I think a hazy atmo does knock down ambient occlusion, too--so this looks right to me.

Interesting - I assume you have early access to Octane 3 then as it is not released yet! Looking forward to it myself.

"....I normally don't like to waste batteries. You never know when your going to need your staff light in a storm, but I can't get this stupid thing to turn off. I think it's stuck." that aside, it's a really beautiful render... I don't think I'll ever own Octane. too pricey. but I"m looking forward to seeing more stuff like this from you in the future....
