Description
These were for cards, posters, etc. Some are in my gallery...
The 1st is 3 Chinese ink tools: 2 brushes and a bamboo pen. (I've used them all.)
Made for decoupage, with pencils.
The 2d was for a birthday card.
(I made hand-made cards years back.)
Pen and ink.
The last was for an art-show-poster, based on the famous "Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting": a Chinese manual from the 17th/18th Centuries. (I studied it back then.)
This is supposed to be painted, but I painted and drew it as well.
All years ago...
Thank you for your patience in viewing all these. When you pass 60, you look back...
Have a fine weekend!
(Better detail in zoom.)

I especially like the bottom one. I was very fond of pen and ink and just looking at these recalle the scratchy sound!
Wolfenshire
I like the third one best. Pen has always been a favorite of mine. You are very talented.

I also often look back but I also remember what Satchel Paige once said, "Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you." That said, these are wonderful works of art. You are very talented. Just one question, "a Chinese manual from the 17th/18th Centuries. (I studied it back then.)" I'm assuming that does not mean you studied it in the 17th/18th Centuries.

lol--no, I didn't get in my time machine and go back to the 18th C (I thought about it, buuuuut...passports, time change, the whole bit...you know...) And re my groyne upload, don't think I didn't think of every possible pun; but I didn't think of "frozen groyne," believe it or not; embarrassing, considering it was a shot of one. (I did think of "groyne pains" ((growing pains)), but it was soooo poor, I let it go...) Thanks for sprinkling your comments with constant one-liners, puns and jokes...we need a snare drum player here (ba-da-boom)...adds the right touch...

I so envy people who can draw. To be able to let your hand skim across a piece of paper letting the pencil touch here and there and end up with something wonderful. Amazing! I turned to Poser because I could tell the computer what to do and it would create (sorta) what I wanted where my hands were totally talentless. Your drawings and photos show a keen eye and grasp of the media. Marvelous job on all of it.

Really well done drawings, Mark. You have an eye for fine detail. That bamboo ink pen is quite fascinating. And you used to create handmade B-day cards. How delightful. I just received a handmade card from my friend, Brigitte, in France, and it is very special. Nice to see some of your earlier work, showing how truly multi-talented you are.

These are just wonderful and the crosshatch does always thrill me. The upper middle one makes me think about such an old fashioned shaving brush. I love how you made them fade out to the light. Very well done. The Barn looks fabulous with all the criss cross as shadows and the softly graduated corners. Gives it such a lovely soft look. The last one is rocks and they are amazingly well done. They remind me of your ice shots and they make me want to draw again. Wonderful artwork, dear Mark. :)

Wait till you get to 70 and see how far you go back. lol. These are very beautiful drawings with a lovely finish and texture to them, and the detail is superb. I'm sure your cards would have sold well. I love that beautiful old barn with its crafted look and feel.

years ago when I was studying Architecture drafting, perspectives of buildings were my favorite part. you really have a talent for ink art. I might be ready to try my not so steady hand at art again

I don't know what I could add to the scintillating comments above, Mark. Perhaps, an ebullient COOL!.

These are all delightful drawings, Mark! I really like the montage you've put together here. It's always good to see where you have been as opposed to where you are now artistically speaking. Thank you for sharing some of your earlier work – your inspiring me to get out some of my older stuff again.
If things ever calm down here, I hope to be able to do a little bit more 2-D work both on the computer, and even some "old technology" work with a pencil and paper.
Right now things are very chaotic here – along with everything else I'm dealing with, now I've got to fight a case of identity theft. It just keeps getting better… :-(
