Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

You made a great abstract of your falling leaves :)

Quite a transformation. Not exactly a Mosaic but some sort of stone artwork. Colorful and creative.

A perfect digifiddle! You have made this your own personal artform, you will be famous for it someday!

Great abstract, looks like one of those micro photos of dried up beer or something. Check out Nikon small world contest.

dried up beer---now that's an original response, lol. Yes, Denise...your own artform. I'd have never guessed leaves, because you've transformed it into a pane of beautiful stained glass. I'd recognize that postwork anywhere, and the outlines really do suggest stained glass leading. Beautiful, with deep blues as the base, while the other hues are the highlights. A terrific digifiddle, Andrea. You have several digifiddle styles, and they are all your own. I couldn't duplicate them if I tried. (Do you think that the cosmos is one gigantic digifiddle? That, if we went back far enough in time, it would be these very orderly things, with moderate hues? Like objects on a desktop? Then someone came along and said, "too boring!" and filtered the hell out of it, and---voila! Our current cosmos. And visitors from other cosmos's come by and say, "cheap! too much edge filtering, wayyyyy too many orbs, the colors are over-exposed, and all that black...amateur-ville all the way...")
