Description

As mentioned before, the Malecón does more than hold back the sea. It has become a promenade, a meeting place and, sometimes, a place where Habaneros meet to party. But sometimes it can be a place where two people can get away for some quiet time together. It can also be someplace to be alone, look out at the sea and daydream.

Two super compositions. I am still in 'discussions' with the council about the giant industrial dumpsters blocking the view of the sea at my beachhut.

zoom's a must...two peaceful, spacious shots, with a feeling of the city lost in the distance and leaving us with the infinite. The top shot is deep and endless, but for the two people, both with yellow tops (and some great color on the woman---you've caught some real caribbean clothing in your shots), and of course the ledge. Plus a little boat out there. Serene and quiet, with a large helping of sky to make this shot vast. And the bottom shot has beautiful lighting, with that silver-white in the background, and dramatic contrasting shadows on the ledge, and in the silhouettes of the 2 figures. Again, lots of sky to assure the vastness of the sight. 2 peaceful, spacious shots, in beautiful contrast to many of your other Cuban shots (with lots of visual and human activity in them). And a fine handling of sea and sky, with the few people and objects within them. Beautiful work, Mark, and a sweet interlude in this continuing wonderful series.
