My name is Markus Vogt, i am a german digital artist and i´ve started creating computer imagery many years ago - first of all with 2D image processing or illustration programs, shortly later i´ve become interested in the incredible possibilities and power of 3D modeling, animation and rendering packages. These are my main focus now.My art has appeared in several graphics related magazines like "3D World", "3dArtist", "Advanced Photoshop" or "Animation Reporter" as well as on various book and CD covers.I love the worlds of Science Fiction and Horror and most of my images fall under this category. I am inspired by some of the classic painters and illustrators like HR Giger, Z. Beksinski or John Berkey as well as from some of the fantastic artists of today like David Ho, Meats Meier, Yann Souetre, Yang Xueguo, Allen Wei Ming or Paul Gerrard.

Great image with a strong POV and fantastic lighting. The design is really strong -- a little reminiscent of Iron Man / War Machine, but not overly so. I am captivated by the subtle dings/dents/dirt and wear you put along the edges of the metal. These are the kinds of details that I'm seeing you excel at in your work (and others could do well to study you to see how it's done). My only concern is the texture on the abs and exposed joints. They are not as crisp as the rest of the image, and there is something unsatisfying about the texture in general. It is stretching in a way that distorts the pattern too much, and it just looks like these should be small, raised bumps on the rubber (or kevlar?), but they are obviously flat. Although the pattern is pleasing and appropriate, it just isn't quite up to the standards of the rest of the image. That being said, there is so much so RIGHT about this, that I want to focus more on the cool things, like the unexpected treatment of his eyes and that almost-humorous pop of red under his chin (I know this is just me, but when I saw it I couldn't help but think of it as a tongue he's sticking out -- at least that's what I saw at first glance). BRAVO!
