Description

This is the final in the series of render engine tests on a known good skin and hair texture. The series was intended to understand how different render engines, in particular Poser 11 new SuperFly, would handle the same textures. 1st in the series was "The Blues Singer" done with Poser 11 SuperFly 2nd in the series was ""The Blues Singer (fireFly)" done with Poser 11 Firefly. 3rd in the series is "The Blues Singer (DAZ) done with DAZ Studio 4.8 IRAY. While I was at it, I wanted to maintain some artistic interest so camera angles, atmos, and DOF changed, as did the lighting which was highly dependent on what the designer of the render software provided. Doubtful that any of these changes was a make or break factor for the textures. You can see that each of the rendering software's had its unique effect on the texture. I will leave it up to you to decide how Poser 11 and DAZ Studio 4.8 measure up in terms of render likability. I would certainly appreciate your opinions on the specifics of skin and hair textures. Ratings and comments are most welcome in this little experiment. Thank all of you for having the patience to view this same basic character 3 times. I promise that she is now going into retirement for at least a little while as new characters and scenes come on line. Thank each and everyone of you for your views and comments. .

I've never used any rendering engine other than 3Delight. This was a very informative exercise about how different engines affect the look of different textures. It also was a lot of fun seeing the singer from various angles, almost as if this was a series of pictures taken at a single concert.

I thought the first P11 render was outstanding in terms of overall visuals. This Daz one does not impress, I can't see what the whole I-ray hoopla is all about. The firefly render was a disappointment. Her skin looks plastic . I seriously thought that one should have been the best ( I guess because it's the one I know and use). Interesting.

I like this one, but it's more because of the warm and intimate posing and how you framed her--there is a lot of affection for the character in how she is presented here (and I like the character very much, I'm not tired of her!). Thank you for doing these three renders--I feel like I learned a lot in looking at the choices you made and how the textures were handled in each one!
