if someone told me before hand that you cropped off the very top of this rock-face, I'd have wondered why you did it; but when I see it in front of me, it pulls the whole shot together: It makes it all about the rock and trees and contours, because you let them dominate the shot. Beautiful capture of a sheer rock-face, with your usual scintillating detail and composition. (The lower 3d is an opening with trees in front; the middle is a band of beautiful trees; and the top, that steep rock-face.) And instead of giving us sky above, you give it on the right...and your left is a big carpet of trees sloping down the shot...You have an innate eye for composition in monumental nature; you get both its monumental feeling as well as many intimate sections within it. Wonderful landscape work once again.
