Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

"Stand up straight dear so the nice lady can take our picture." Beautiful light and colors combined with your signature poste work.

lol, Mark. And he's got the picture too. The flickr version is the "straight" one, posing for the camera and standing upright...this one is the pause between shots, when they're schmoozing with the lighting people, and asking for a Perrier...In zoom this thing becomes huge splashes of light on glass and metal...and your postwork delineates the splashes in all your terrific "andrea" patterns. But you never lose the sheen or sweep of the bottles. Your 'ground' is a reflective sea, with great splotches of light and all those grainy edges. And your background has a dab of yellow in the center, with a deep yellow-gold on the left, and lots of white on the right. All in all, it's a big splashing abstract, and another wonderful entry into your ever-growing bottle series, which (as you know) is one of my favorite series here. It's like the bottles polished themselves on that throw (last shot), and now they present themselves boldly to the world...

Fantastic Work,

Nicely done. I could tell just by looking at the shape of the bottles that they contained 'a floral woody citrus green animalic scent' lol.
