Interesting photo! I looked it up and saw that the USS Kidd was named after the Rear Admiral Kidd, killed on his flagship the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor. The first captain of the Kidd flew a Jolly Roger when it sailed out of where it was built to the Brooklyn Naval Yard. They built a lot of those Fletcher Class destroyers. Website for the park says they launched four of them in 14 minutes of each other when this one was launched. I think we can launch four within fourteen years of each other these days. Funny title. ;)

it's very kind of you to remember this day, Jock...even if you were a little late, it's never too late. I love the photograph: You got this piece of a museum display that looks like someone's room. I love all the things inside it. And it has Korea and WWII on top. A fitting photo, and very kind of you to remember our veterans on such a heavy day (Pearl Harbor Day). I hope your Christmas is blessed, Jock, and I wish you much joy for the entire holiday season. You bring a lot of light to the world, I hope you get a lot of light back.

At first I found the photo funny, but after I read what that is, I thought it was not so funny ... Pearl Harbor is such a terrible thing. I hope it never happens again. Mainly because it ended in a nuclear attack ...
