Description
Got back from our visit to our son & his family last night. They bought a house on five acres in Corbett, Oregon recently & this was our first visit with them there. The weather was pretty wet most of the time, but we had one day where we had several hours of respite from the rain & we went on a hike that was very close to their house. My daughter-in-law had found & explored this unmarked trail the previous day, was very excited about how beautiful it was & wanted to share the experience with all of us. It was a great hike through some very lush forestland & ended in a narrow gorge with a waterfall falling into a creek. This was a small clearing near the beginning of the hike...

if this were on my land (denise and you), I'd never leave home. A beautiful patch of forest, and your treatment is luminous. It pops off the page with magic. Beautiful highlights and deep shadows, and your composition/crop gives us a mini-valley that runs through the center, and meets tall trunks in back, and is over-taken by that massive trunk from the right. A paradise capture, and the ferns in the right bottom grace it beautifully, as to the hanging branches, etc.

They picked a beautiful place. Outside the city enough to have room, but close enough that shopping isn't an issue. It's a lovely area. Glad you enjoyed your visit!
