Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I'm wondering how "oversized" this is - it looks to me like a pop art sculpture that could be six feet tall, though I'm guessing from the price you paid that it's significantly smaller. Not much of a fan of pop art (though I like a lot of pop surrealism), but I like what you've done with this - especially the shadow which looks like a rabbit with very long ears...

yes, ala Claude, it does look like a pop art sculpture. And that it's 6 feet tall (182 CM). With your postwork, it feels monumental! ("Behold the clothes peg!") Your grainy postwork makes it even more otherworldly, and gritty too, with that "rabbit ears" shadow (Claude again). I never knew the ends of a clothes-peg could 'tower'...Terrific. I love it! I'll take a dozen.
(Have you ever seen Oldenberg's work in person? Mr. "soft"? It looks silly on paper, but when you see a clothes-pin, made into a gigantic pillow, it has quite an impact. I'm a fan of that kind of art, it's huge and massively silly and playful. And it does just what it wants to do: Transforms the objects of our lives into a gigantic touchable toy.)

Perfect simplicity, Andrea. Love it.

I like what you've done with this with the high key background and ghostly shadow. It does look like something from Claes Oldenburg.
