Nice idea, the beach head and all. Try making more of a feature of the helmet...perhaps an extreme close-up on one side of the frame...a bullet hole torn through the metal. Look forward to further postings. ;)

Nice work Joe, the sky looks great. Perhaps some light grit on the sand? The brush on the right foreground looks some what distorted. Other wise this is a great scene. Hope you don't mind my comments. Regards, shoop

Very nice though a little scaring. I really like the contrast of an deserted beach with calm sea and the approaching deadly planes. "Tora, tora, tora!" was the first phrase that hit my mind while watching this image.

I aggre with shallahbim. The only thing that's wrong with sandtexture is the line in the front. I like the name of this scene extremely much :) (don't ask me why)

I'm betting that nu-be's right...those are P-51's. But my feeling here is that the beach is 'way too clean. Iwo Jima was small and its beaches were closely sighted in by Japanese artillery on Mt.Suribachi. I don't feel as though a war has just passed over this landscape.

Thanks for the comments ppl, yes they are P-51s, they come with Vue4. I don't know if they're historically accurate, I'm only using what I can get, and other models may be more accurate for the time but they often don't come with textures and I'm not skilled enough to make them. I'll work on the sand texture too, and find out a bit more about Iwo Jima before I repost it. Not sure when that will be. ;)
