Description
the news said there were a total of 12 tornadoes here within a short time that done massive destruction. I took this in Garland close to Bass Pro Drive. on the other side are condos that were ripped apart and further north across the lake there were 34 homes demolished. around Dallas there was destruction in smaller cities. a 2 day old baby was killed in the tornado. when I heard it I had a lump in my throat as well as all the other people that lost their life .
a friend of mine is buying a home in Rowlett just a block way from the massive destruction.
I was unable to take pictures of the destruction as there were too many electric trucks and many police. of course there were people trying to steal also.
I stopped at Bass Pro Outdoor world and I was talking to an employee there. he was at a hamburger place near by eating lunch when the electric went out. he went outside and took a picture of the tornado as it crossed Interstate 30. he showed the picture to me and it was massive. it was a F4 force with winds up to 200 miles per hour

the roads were unpassable after the storm. workers moved the debris into piles along side the highways

Good heavens, so scary! It's so late in the year for tornadoes, too--I hope they are done now for a while. I thought Dallas almost never got them, too!

wow, Richard, I'd heard of this but had no idea how powerful it was. What's so eerie about your capture is that it's so quiet and unassuming---the debris is so quiet, all scattered in shadow under a protective ceiling...and yet it points to something catastrophic just before...a very powerful reminder of how catastrophes can be so destructive, yet leave such quiet in their aftermath. An amazing silent capture. I hope all is healing now, and I'm very sorry for the losses to all the people effected...

Such freaky weather. Saw a headline in my Google news app saying the North Pole was above freezing.
Sorry about those who lost their lives, especially that two day old baby. :(

An outstanding photo capturing the severity of our recent weather. It seems that something is just a little left of center during these past few years. Kinda of makes one wonder what's next. Well done, Richard!!!!!
