Yves, I have to leave soon, so please forgive my writing in English today: I promise I'll return to French, the next time. (Even though my French is awful ! ) I appreciate how you and others always write in English, and I want to do the same for you. But today, I'll comment in English, so I can comment completely, before I leave...

This is both modern and also very 1950s and 1960s. It's a wonderful combination of styles. You've painted the woman with your usual flow and grace---her shoulders are arched to the left, her torso moved to the right, and then her legs move back to the left, until they reach the ground through her well-painted shoes. Your legs and feet are graceful, as always. And you paint angles effortlessly; and you painted her bag and scarf beautifully too: They point behind her, as if she were walking into some wind...

I love the gentle yellow tones, and that bright bold red umbrella. And you sketched a Paris scene, with the tour Eiffel, and you've sprinkled it with a gentle blue wash---as you did on other parts of the painting, as well. The Paris scene is all we need to suggest Paris to us. Beautifully done, with the feeling of walking into a New Year. Bonne année, Yves, and I hope that your 2016 brings you great blessings, beauty, love, joy and creativity. It's been a pleasure to be part of your world. Thank you for all you give us here, throughout the year!
