Description

Sven lived at the outskirts of town, in the old air ship harbour where the flat shoreline met the sea. His father was an air tug operator, working mostly on salvage jobs and the occasional rescue or recovery operation now that the majority of the freight business had moved further north. It was a two mile bike ride in Summer, and a much longer commute by foot in the Winter, unless you were willing to hitch a ride with the shady locals on their snowmachines or in their rusty vehicles. With her trusted companion ,Killer, she slogged through deep snow and traversed frozen inlet streams to visit and spend time exploring the derelict harbour buildings before heading inside for a hearty bowl of fish stew prepared by Sven's mother. A few hours of companionship, and then the walk back to her parent's shack before night fell. How she wished for the day she and Sven could take an airbus out of here and find a new life! Figures are the Winter People from xoio-air .The main building is part of the Star City 1 bundle, and that, along with the barrels, wooden scaffolding and vegetation are all from Cornucopia3D( all materials were modified with a snow layer addition to make more wintry). The air tug and other items are my own models created in Wings3D. The ground material is a custom creation combining an ice material from Alessandro Mastronardi's Snow & Ice Pack with a Ploughed Land preset. Postwork involved the breath from figures, Smoke from building and ship, birds( brush from Obsidian Dawn) and signature. Thanks for taking a look, and Happy New Year!

Great concept and you really captured the frigid aspects of the setting with your lighting and atmosphere.

Nicely done! The composition and the long shadows of winter give the scene great realism. (Catching up, now that both renderosity notifications and my email are working)
