Taken in Bratislava. One of the things I noticed in pretty much all the countries we visited in central & eastern Europe is that there is a strong surrealist tradition & bizarre sense of humor that permeates much of their art & culture...

An art teacher from E. Europe once said, "where there was once oppressive government, surrealism will flourish..." This is both surreal and just plain comic. I love how well it's done, in metal, and with a great patina. And the placement of the cover. Very clear shot too, in detail, and getting the pinkish undertones of the brick, and that beautiful coffee-hued brass of the sculpture. And a great sighting too. I wish there were more of this in Chicago...
