good pun, and you used red very well here---in the sun in the background, and in the crimson red of the woman's dress. (And her nails too.) Fine stark frontal gaze, and I love the decoration on her face and arm and finger tips. Also, that's one big gong mallet---she looks great holding it like that! If you've ever been next to a gong when it was hit hard, believe me, it can be as potent as a club. You wanna run to another state...Really well composed, and very bold in hues, gaze and contrasts. A delightful treatment of these Japanese motifs, Steve. I hope your new year is starting well for you!
