hi meli! sorry I haven't let hear anything from me for a while. I had to get through the presentation at the academy. and now my computer is broken, could not figure out whats wrong it - mybe the board. well, the eyes series is neat. maybe the shading is a little to soft, but this migt be wanted. the eyes of the women are really great :) BUT: there is nothing really special to this drawings. just normal, quite good made portraits. at the academy u would not be able to get anywhere with it. I even was not able to get through with my ink drawings... but however, this is no academy and u are making "art" for your own pleasure :) In my opinion u would be able to manage really great pices with your skill. only try to break through your common way :) have a good day! when I hear you is like my cousin Cinzia (she went to Art School of Florence) is speakin :) You are right, in all you said, but again, my attempt is not to make art (you know I never call art what I do.. I call art what some others do here)just to share little emotions with people. :) and the shades are this soft because that pleases my eyes the most. But I am workin on something a little more..."peculiar just to please your request for drama :) I am glad if you think I can do more and better: I am not really sure myself, but you definitely are a good push for me :) Thanx to all others who have commented :) as well. It is amazing though what can be achieved with just 2B: once you have a feel for the technique, such a wide gamut of tones can be laid down. This is a nice smooth work, and even from the thumbnail I recognized Kate's face - very well done :-) You know, by coincidence I did a really bizarre pic a few weeks ago using a photo of Kate Moss as a starting point, but I haven't been happy with it somehow. Maybe I'll post it anyway now - perhaps "fresh eyes" will reveal something :-) Have a hug :-)

The song seems to be about baseball from the phraseology. The faces are now a bit more complex in their underlying geometry and smoother on the surface.

I think shes acctualy my favourite of the ''eyes'' girls :) very stunning picture, she looks a little angry too me tho as if she just seen something she dosent like grins butifull as ever :)

I found ElPollo's remarks provocative in a good way. I found that my art school was pushing department policy and individual techer POV. Both were useful if one wanted to A/ Get good grades or B/ Find mainstream direction. I came to the inescapable conclusion that my art was my self expression. I also found a few select teachers (very few!) that were willing to just let individual talent grow while helping the student with technique. I received a partcularly useful piece of advice from one of my teachers. His name was Lucio Pozzi and his advice was to always consider and try to incorporate the opposite of my desires into my work. Hope I'm not ranting too badly :) Just my two cents worth. Love the drawing, particularly the mouth.

I love the lost look in her eyes, it reminds me a bit of my gwyneth palthrow drawing. They eyes are stunning. And the nose, really good. The only thing is the lips and teeth. It's as if they don't fit. Maybe it's the size of the teeth or the placement. But overall, I really like it. ;)

teeth weren't in the pic I used as inspiration, I added them cos I wanted something like.. a talk traunched in her mouth or something ;) to me they fit, but all opinions are welcomed (and they could indeed be not that well done..)
