Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Oh yum! A little bit goes a long way ... it's pretty spicy! We buy a trail mix blend that has little bits of ginger, and I spend a lot of time picking out just the right combination. One almond, one macadamia, two cranberries, one ginger, two cashews ... that sort of thing ... because the right mix is delightful! :)

I concur on the fiddling. This looks a bit like brown sugar rock candy.

Superb capture and post work Andrea. God bless.

holy moley, I don't know if everyone zoomed, because if they did their eyes would pop out! Terrific intense postwork, all kinds of colonies and energy lines (my usual descriptives of this style)---it's really alive! The flickr version is more like excavated stones from a quarry---another really appealing treatment. This one, however, is run-through with electrical currents. I love your treatment. And placing it against that starred fabric is perfect, esp with the circles of stars surrounding it...And yeah, ginger's good for digestion; and yes, these cubes are high in sugar, lol. (Also rough on teeth, if your teeth have any problems!) You ever have genuine ginger ale? It usually has a root in it, and it'll knock your socks off. (What's often sold as ginger ale doesn't come close...) I love this piece.
