Hello!! from Jean. I live in UK north of Manchester and close to the Ribble Valley. I have two sons who live in the south of England , and Geneva. I have been interested in photography for years..in the sense of capturing people and scenes, but with a digital camera have become an addict. Photography enables unique moments to be captured and one learns to use one's eyes more searchingly. As I have absolutely no talent in conventional art it is a challenge to try to produce results with all the help available with software. As a overview of my gallery will show, I am a novice! I do like to experiment..usually with no fixed idea of where i'm going1 Just persist until the image pleases me. and the creative process is fun. Members of RR have been very generous with their comments and help, which is very much appreciated. I have learned so much of seeing other artists' work apart from the real enjoyment of viewing and having contact with other members.  I like to travel which gives added inspiration.... Many many thanks to you all. JeanÂ

Interesting. It is also interesting about the Bistro sign. 50-60 years ago one didn't find that in Germany. It is a legacy of the Italian guest workers that began to work for Volkswagen in the late 50's. Many of them returned to Italy once they made enough money, but many more stayed, married German women and became part of German society. As a result there are some really good Italian restaurants in Germany now. And 'Thanks' for the info on Rothenburg o.d. Tauber.

Outstanding shot! I have seen that. I have driven out of Wertheim during a minor flood in order to take someone to the krankenhaus in Wuerzburg and almost flooded out my auto engine. The 1995 mark was not there when I last looked at this scene. :)
