Description

Human Beings have now had such a profound impact on the planet that scientists are debating whether we have truly entered a new epoch- the Anthropocene. Although people have been shaping the world around them for thousands of years, the last half century or so has seen a massive step change in terms of everything from the air we breath to the water that we drink. We are destroying other species so fast we have become a mass extinction event, we have created new materials like plastic which will be around in the Earth for millions of years to come. And lets not get started on human climate change, please. We've done a real number on the world it seems.

and the clock is ticking! it use to be whether or not we'd blow ourselves up with the nuclear weapons - now we face a more dire method of dying. thinking of Megadeth's album "Countdown to Extinction"

just food for thought!

Tick-Tock our time is coming and those that deny it are oblivious to the facts at hand. Like the Politician that said How can there be global warming if we have winters like 2015? Sad the leaders we pick and other countries are often far worst. Speak out and speak out loudly.

There is a point by point historical parallel between race science and global warming. Genetics is real but race science is not. It turned out to be more complicated than that. Global warming is real but climate science is still a very new field and no one really knows how it works. People in the 20th century proposed radical solutions to save the world from genetic catastrophe like eugenics and used fear to grab political power. People today are proposing radical solutions to save the world from global warming but they don't have any real solutions they just want political power. Biofuels raised the cost of basic foods causing desperation and revolution in the Middle East and the current refugee crisis in Europe. Any radical solutions to Global warming will cause widespread economic disruption, unemployment, starvation, the rise of radical regimes like the Nazis or ISIL around the world and bring on WWIII. We need solutions to Global Warming, but no one has the technology yet, and radical panic is only going to kill billions of people..

Great image. I recently read about the new eon Anthropocene. The traces can already be found in sediments. Interesting - though unsettling - development. Time to think of globalization not only as an economic phenomenon but also that we are all together on this planet and have to resolve the issues we created together.

Another academic term to shift attention from the real problem - the sun. Which has ALWAYS driven climate and weather. A small change in solar emissions has a catastrophic effect on the earth. More positive particle emission knocks out more ozone at the south pole. A bit more energy and we evaporate more water = hotter, more moisture = more rain and erosion. A bit less and we approach a new ice age. As for carbon emissions, all the carbon in coal and oil were once in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide before becoming fixed in biological matter by plants. A volcano spews out more carbon dioxide, sulpher and other noxious substances than all our industries combined. Mt. St. Helens spewed out so much ash we had 3 cold summers. Over population? Yes, 3rd world countries. And they don't care as long as they have something to eat, resulting in over population. Add certain religions who aim at conquering the world by over populating it with their own beliefs, and we have man more made problems. This world is a dangerous place to live in. So, why do we choose to come her to live? Mars just might be a better choice!

Everyone can do something for the environment. I also do not understand how such a creature with such a small ass, necessarily have to drive a bold SUV. I ride my bike, do not use plastic bags and related only green electricity ... The greed is all our downfall ... We should quickly rethink and do not leave thinking someone else ... My appeal: Uses no smartphone, but your eyes and your brain! Great Render, my dear friend!
