Description
"Well I'll be damned!" she blurted out, a frown quickly distorting her features.
Here we go again, I smiled inwardly and sipped my coffee. Mmmm...she always makes some fantastic brews.
"He's doing it again," she pouted at me as she continued to stretch her shoulders and back.
A simple looking routine. But she was doing it with an assassin's finesse and training, which meant she moved more muscles and tendons per stretching session than the normal guys and gals would doing the same thing all day. And more intensely; you could tell by the way she perspired.
And she looked damned fine doing it too. Not to mention the grunts and moans she makes when she really pushes herself. Very sensual indeed, I mused.
"I said, he's doing it again."
"Who?" I asked absently. It's that tummy, I thought, eyeing her well toned midsection. It really draws me in. "Doing what?"
"Our new neighbour," she fumed, "He's peeping at me again."
I shrugged and smiled. "He's got good taste." Flattery always wins, right?
She gave me an acid look which nearly made me spill my coffee. Wrong, obviously.
"I mean, look at yourself. You're probably giving him incentives to look this way." That sounded wrong the moment it left my big mouth.
She paused, her eyes boring into mine. "So you're saying it's my fault?"
Shit.
"I'm just saying he's not the first, and believe me he won't be the last." I try the flattery thing again. "You just look too good."
She snorted and gave me the finger.
Damn, strike two.
"I put the katana there to discourage him and other potential upstarts," she lamented. "And it's not working."
I smiled, looking at the Katana. She could easily shred enemies into ribbons with it, yet she missed something fundamental with the setup.
"A master named Shonsu once told me that if you put the katana upside down, it means you don't have any issues with the person."
She froze, looking at the katana.
"Oh."
"Yup."
"Oh." she said again, her cheeks coloring briefly. "I didn't know that."
"It's okay, I doubt if they're all well versed in Katana lore to know that." I said. "But still," I parted the curtains and briefly checked out the new guy, putting my observation and lip reading skills to some good use. I couldn't help chuckling after a while.
"What?" she looked up.
"He's practicing his lines." I gave her a broad grin. "I think he's planning on coming over."
"Great." she palmed her face. "What's it going to be?"
"The usual." I replied, "He'll want to borrow some sugar."

I have enjoyed your work for a long time as you know, considering the comments I have made over the years. My primarily interest has been in the way you bring your characters to life, through a relationship with to the viewer through the connection point of their eyes, which are often executed marvelously. But in this image you have excelled yourself...
..the quite staggering realism in this particular piece stands out as a jewel in the crown of your work so far. The lighting is superb and entirely convincing. The depth of field and the little touches like the reflectivity and the grain on the floor-boards all add up to make the vision leap out and possess a new realm. Personally, I also like the features in this character; the believable expression on her face gives her depth. I would like to see more featuring this 'model'.
Well done. This work in my opinion really deserves the highest rating of five stars.
