after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve
i enjoy working with poser, i have such a dinosaur version i use, (p6) wish i had poser 2012 at least. i also use photoshop 7 for most of my work i post here. but more so photography is my main passion, just hope to get a camera again someday.
p.s. not sure how high of a res pic i'm using for this page. take care and thanks a million you all.

Really Steve nice work. We are our own worst critics. And even our muse needs a vacation once in a while.

Well, if it's any consolation, she makes MY heart beat a little faster! :-D She looks mighty sweet, Steve! Good that your Muse can take a day or two off, and you can still create something lovely. I like this a lot!

Just try this with an added spotlight from the top right, not too strong, maybe a warm grey or blue grey and see how it looks?

Beautiful looking work – I wish you a nice Weekend!

I think she is fun. Often we see our works through the eyes of our personal favorites. This one is by no means shabby or boring. She has personality and the world she lives in is quirky and fun. You did a fine job.

generally, fine artists do better than they think when they think they've made a boring image: I don't think you can avoid putting your artistic magic into your work, even if your muse has booked a 3 day trip to Miami...this is far better than you think, Steve. It's a relaxed moment for a woman who appears to be active at other times. I like her quiet, reflective pose, and her posture. And the way she holds her sandal, and places her left wrist. The background looks like a huge stained glass window design, on a marble pedestal; I like how you've used it here. And some kind of gyroscope? As always, fascinating objects in your work. And two beautiful glass items---the vase and glass (lovely light on both, as if they're silver-coated). But the stairwell's the thing, spilling into the image, making it feel like a moment of repose. (Ie, the end of stairs, the end of activity, whatever you want to say about it...) A relaxed inward moment in the life of someone who's probably pretty active otherwise. Maybe the mood you were in at the time---and portraying repose is as much an art as anything else, and you do it here with real panache.
(Steve, here are 3 fine examples of relaxed, introverted portraits, to make my point about this kind of art. The first 2 are Renoir, the great French Impressionist: 1st is a sleeping woman; 2d is two sisters; and look at the older sister: She's off in 'another world'. (Beautiful hat too!) The 3d is Edouard Manet's famous painting of a woman at a bar (1800s). Look at her eyes: She's a million miles away, in total distraction...Just some samples of how painters portrayed "off" moments, as you have here... http://www.wikiart.org/en/pierre-auguste-renoir/the-sleeper-1880?utm_source=returned&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=referral https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/15/Renoir_-_The_Two_Sisters,_On_the_Terrace.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8f/Edouard_Manet_004.jpg)
