An original feature from my 1923 house repositioned on the hip of the newer roof of the extension.

It does look like a bishop's crosier or a fiddlehead. It seems to have held up well over the last 92 years. I had dinner last weekend at a home built in 1925 and was reminded once again how much quality we used to put into construction.

yeah, with Mark, it does look like a crozier, some kind of pastoral staff; or yeah, it does have a bit of a violin's scroll-look about it. Whatever it is (it's a finial, but I wonder if it was part of a larger design, or it simply stood as is), it's fascinating, and the shot lets it stand out against all that blue. Really fascinating shot. I love its decay too. It carries its age really well.
