Description

it was on top of the original Mobil building for so many years. It was there in 1968, my first time to visit Dallas

Oh, this is so impressive to see, and a great, huge photo, Richard. Also it's a very distinctive design and architecture.

Brings back lots of memories! I haven't seen a mobile station in years. I believe Mobil is owned by Exxon, now. I sure remember those big 'flying horse' signs when we traveled back when I was a kid.

Cool shot, Richard!

You said you were going to post this, and I was really happy when you did---and twice. You couldn't have showcased it better: You have it as a triumphal "top" to this pic, even though it's some distance in front of the hotel. It's still composed as a huge top-center to it all--- very dramatic! And it stands out, too, because of its deep reds against all that blue. Your tilt allows that horse to appear level; and the detail in the horse if very visible (something we expect from you, because of how well you do it): We can see the metal panels in the sign, as well as the neon tubing, and the back of the opposite side. There's almost a halo around the building too. Beautiful capture of what looks like a difficult shot to capture. A real beauty.
