Thank you all very much for the kind comments. That is a picture of me early in my sophomore year in high school. The original had been tucked away in a photo album of my mom's. It had become a little faded, despite being in an album. I wanted to be able to balance the white and black points plus bring back the highlights in the hair (that I used to have!). The OnOne plugins for Photoshop have some excellent filters for doing just that. Because of the fading, the sharpness had suffered a little, too. So, I wanted to add a grainy effect to compensate for that. The end result has kind of a charcoal drawing feel to it. Thanks again for taking a look ! ! !
