Some paintings and photos blended...
A personal note on my last piece:
Figure drawing has always been a challenge for me. My last piece was the first figure-art I've done in years, and it was intimidating. I did it for Yves' brilliance, of course; but for all the problems in that drawing, I proved to myself that I could tackle figure art again---something I didn't think I could do. And I wanted to thank you all for being so receptive to it.
I've begun commenting again, and will continue through the weekend. If I can't do all I've missed, I'll do as much as I can.
Thanks again for all your visits,
Mark

This really is amazing to explore, my friend. I just like all the faded colours, it is such expressive and artistic this way all around. And then suddenly that sun, so surprising, rising, as all in it has to tell a story; and I would wonder, if..., what it would tell!

Beautiful! Life drawing was compulsory when I was at art school, but it was never my strong point. I prefer clay.

The Mystic Orb looks out over a magical landscape of fire cliffs and snow capped mountains and celestial objects. A stunning image. I love the colors and the layering. I'm with Mike, this should be on display somewhere.

SUPERLATIVE WORK!

Splendid photo/painting combination of the strong spotlight with the pink halo at the top, illuminating the cave's interior, rife with colorful stalactites and stalagmites, Mark. Or is that the sun blazing over the snow capped Alps? In any event, we again see more of your signature pink, and love those blends, contrasts and textures. And, is that a sofa or easy chair at the lower left?

A beautiful blend of color and shapes for this very impressive image. Great textures and vibrant color that really makes me sit up and notice what you are achieving here. Splendid and creative work. I hope you have a happy week too.

I think you did a brilliant job with it, Mark! And speaking of brilliant, I really love the color and brilliance of this artwork! Just delicious!
I'm starting to get back into some of that myself in between work and all the crap RL has been doling out lately...

Very nice work Mark. I like the colors very much. For me, it could show the hard way from the bottom to the top.

"From the bottom of the ocean to the mountains of the moon" ... Graham Nash, "Chicago"
It was the song's reference to the geography that sprang to mind, but the fact that the name of the song is "Chicago," made me smile. :)
This is just beautiful. It's a Japanese landscape in its feeling, but with color and movement and a fantasy of the northern lights. It seems like the sun and the moon are both rising over the mountains, and it's glorious!

A very lovely blend of mountains and moons, color and texture, cool and warm. To me, it is like a visual journey through the seasons.

What Mark said :p And, with Mike, I think this needs to be HOOOOOOOGE and hanging on some very public atrium wall for all to be able to see and absorb. It's stunning!

I have been rummaging through your gallery this morning - and oh boy, there is so much I haven't been commenting on... undeservedly so Mark, I am sorry for this misdemeanour - I know I should have done better and more... and then something stopped me in my tracks and made me go back several times to "this one" and that is easily explained (I think, maybe not !) You have this uncanny ability to strike the right chords, with design, with colour - but mainly with thought, which goes into everything you create. It's what everybody (above) has been saying, in my opinion and it is even more than all that. It is powerful, it is strong, it has been touched by an apocalyptic Sun to show us here, that life on Earth is only a fleeting glance for us and nothing could survive, except these foreign landscapes, snow-capped mountains, deep valleys, maybe even some rivers and then being totally surrounded and I can almost feel it, the drag or pull of such a strong force, by all those other planets ! it seems everyone of them wants a bit of our planet - IT'S OUT OF THIS WORLD, Mark. [and your ]
[I should stop right here with these 'Gefuehls-duseleien' - but it is my vision, what I feel and see! it's ephemeral, if that is the right world ?] the English language is still trying to throw me a curveball occasionally, to make me check the Wikipedia first - I do hope it's right ?
