Description
As she lay in bed falling asleep, the radio played The Beatles. And as the song went on;
"One sweet dream
Pick up the bags and get in the limousine
Soon we'll be away from here
Step on the gas and wipe that tear away
One sweet dream came true today"
She gradually drifted off into a dream. Dreams of the better life her and her husband had planned when they married; but before the plant closed. She dreamed of a life beyond the crumbling city neighborhood they were now trapped in; a life of opportunity and security in the suburbs.
A concept I've had for some time now; but little time to sit, compile, and render it. Not actually inspired by the song "Golden Slumber" but actually the lyrics of "You Never Give Me Your Money" but the title of the former seemed to fit better with the concept.
Thank you for taking the time to view the image. I hope I can make some time to catch up on all of your soon too. A new job and the restructuring of my time -- not to mention the tasks associated with caring for three very stubborn and demanding dogs, has left me a bit limited on the time I previously enjoyed creating images.
I'm hoping you all are well too!
BTW, let me continue to express my displeasure with this new format. Even after checking and rechecking image sizes and formats, I still have trouble getting acceptance of my thumbnail images even though they are right in the middle of the specified ranges.

it's always nice to see your work, my dear!
it is very fitting and in this case a great social commentary. especially regarding the plant closures (job allowed to go overseas) thus exacerbating the unemployment problems and subsequently the homeless problems.)
Sorry about the rant! I work where I see the results of the disappearing job syndrome all the time.

Cool scene and marvelous atmosphere !!

A very interesting scene. The ambiguity allows one to ponder what might have, or will take place. Great atmosphere!
