Description
The Cuban government is quick to mention that 90% of Cuba's population own their own homes. But the definition of "home" covers a wide spectrum. Out in the countryside it can be pretty basic.

I guess for some, 4 walls and a roof is all they need, right?

It's shelter from the elements that matters; looks fairly idyllic to me!

Hmm! I often realise that it is only in my mind that I want to live a simpler existence.

I am totally electricity dependent. Rain-proof roof. HVAC. Critter proof. Comfy couch. Good to go! :)

In addition to being a fine capture of the kind of dwelling one finds in many places in the world, it's a really fine shot. The light on the roof is terrific, as it is on the covering over the 'porch' area in front of the house. And you got the shed to the far right, and all those posts, with real detail. And the posts in front, with the gnarled wire. It's a flat vista against a broad sky---a terrific shot, Mark. I know that many people live in such places, and that these are luxurious compared to many others. A fine capture of real life, typical of what you post here so often, in your gallery.

This is indeed a fine shot of this way of life. I wonder how sturdy it actually is. It appears to me that a strong windstorm would blow it away rather easily.
