Description
This crane is relatively idle now that the heavy work has been done.
A recent incident in New York, involving a 565 foot (170 meters) fixed crane indicates severity of accidents.
note: a recent listing has a used 2009 150 ton crawler crane for sale ... $695, 000 if you are interested :)

I took a closer look, and it's a LIEBHERR Model LR 1300, which lists new for about $1.8 million US . Apparently it can work to 170 meters, similar to the fixed crane which fell in New York.
Thx for views, comments and your picture posts.

This is another angle of the same instrument, and the guy who operates the controls treats it as an extension of himself.

Neat shot of this massive piece of equipment! I heard something on the news about one collapsing in NY.

... stripped down for transport
calico_jester
Completely stripped, loaded onto ten flat bed trailers and bound for South Carolina, this job is done.
I was told that each track assembly weighs 20, 000 pounds, and require a single trailer for each of the two. Multiple boom sections and weights are transported on other flatbeds.
