On my last photo I showed the crowded main street. I took this side street to get away from this crush of people.

Excellent! I remember this view! I almost, but not quite remember the significance of the ornate building at the end of the street.

The building is a hotel (Hotel zum Ritter), it is one of the oldest buildings in Heidelberg, built in 1592.
