Description
The White Witches may be long diminished, but the legacy of their passing continues to cause strife and misery for the wretched humans left behind on the shattered world of Khandoore.
While a White Witch weaves her enchantment in the North, other minor battles are waged over the scraps of civilisation left over from our forefathers. Food stocks have long gone, but the old cities still contain some small prizes for those canny enough to find and haul away.
What mystifies us most however is the constant bickering over things that have no value. Take the example of a White Witch vessel lying dormant in the central lowlands. The land there is fertile and has been farmed for generations, and it’s inhabitants have been content to sow and reap around this structure without fear.
Yet once in a while, some warlord or petty king will spy this artefact and seek to make it his own. Blood is spilled and the farmers displaced, and for a while the colours of this so-called leader are attached to the structure. The more enterprising build fortifications on it, taking advantage of its invulnerability to ward off others tempted to take it for themselves. In time however, laziness or ingenuity allows the ship to become the property of someone else.
Eventually the vessel is abandoned, so the farmers and their livestock return. The rains come and wash the blood and temporary structures away, leaving the preternatural blue metal of White Witches clean and untouched, indifferent to the violence directed against it.

Great image! I really like the anachronism. If that's the right word for a barbarian stockade on an artifact they can't possibly understand.
