alida, I saw this upload 2 weeks ago, but I never got around to commenting at the time. I apologize, as I was struck, immediately, by your very sad news. I didn't know whaleman personally (wayne, right?), but I was in his gallery many times, and he was a terrific artist, and a very kind and caring person to many people here. You said, in your words, that he was a friend of yours, a penpal: I'm very sorry for your loss. I know that Caring friends----who also happen to be very fine artists---are a jewel; and I'm sorry you lost him. I didn't see anything about him on RR, except in your gallery---if I missed other postings or news items, it's only because I was barely online through that time. But I'm very sorry for his loss.
As for your image, it's like a big monument in the middle of an eternal field. Or like a monument to the 'fallen', as if from a war. And there's a huge expanse around it, with a deep infinite sky. It feels very fitting, as a memorial to Wayne. It's always wonderful when you come back here, and I'm just sorry that this return was for such a sad reason. I hope you're well, too, and I wish you a fine spring. And thank you for telling us about Wayne. (And thank you for faving me---I know you'd fav'd me before the renderosity "revolution," but I know those fav's disappeared. That 'revolution' was crazy. Thank you for faving me again---luckily my fav of you remained, so I get all your ebots still.) Much peace to you, and may Whaleman, your friend, rest in peace.
