Description

The castle was, according to an old mention, probably built in in the years 1200 -1225. In the years 1688/1689 it was destroyed by French troops. 1693: renewed destruction in the Palatinate succession war. 1697: (start) reconstruction. 1764: destruction by lightning. Thanks for viewing.

Wonderful composition. The history of this castle is very similar to the history of many castles in Europe - destruction in wars, followed by rebuilding efforts. Kind of an ongoing, medieval constructions jobs project...
