Description
Because of its relatively isolated location, employees of the King Ranch live on the ranch. Employees have families and those families have children. These children must be educated and so, after we had visited Maria’s house we walked across the road and visited the small school set up for the children of the employees.

I'd love to visit Cuba. My neighbor goes there a lot and loves it.

Learning for these children doesn't appear to be a burden - on the contrary, they do look so happy, even wearing school uniforms and no sign of a mobile phone - unlike... well, you know the rest ! what a wonderful atmosphere here.

Well, this reminds me my kindergarten, the same blackboard and drawings on the walls.

a delightful capture, Mark, with a feeling of a small room but with space and freedom to spread out. I love the different positions of all the kids; it's not an "at attention" school shot, but a shot of kids enjoying themselves while they learn. The teacher seems happy too. I like her yellow top in contrast with the whites and blues of the kids. (And they're wearing crimson pants, I think.) (It seems strange to me, an American, that they'd have uniforms in such a small community! Maybe it helps put the children in the learning state of mind...) You got a lot of light in this despite the rather medium lighting of the place. And the whole picture seems to lead to that chalk board, which is hit with light itself. (I like that splotch of light there!) A real delight, gritty and joyous; and we get to see some of the floor too, which is a real lived-in floor....In full zoom, it is a big swath of life with lots of positive energies all around.
