They should thank him? Not into defacing property. I just purchased a train car set, one of the textures is one like this. Working on one with another texture.

This is a major problem for the RRs.

I wish that artist had found another canvas for that instead of other people's property. It's impressive work, but it's still illegal and a pain for the railcar's owner to clean it up.
Graffiti was a huge problem for the CTA back in the 90s. Now with security cameras on the trains it's not so much.

Shame to see talent wasted this way.

Every time I see one of these railcars I have to wonder how these "artists" are able to do these rather intricate works and not get nailed by the railroad police... I'm sure they do this stuff at night, but still... Seems to me they could better use their talents (and some are quite talented) on community murals that many communities are putting on the walls of otherwise ugly old buildings.
Cool shot, Richard.

great shot, it is hard to find a train car that is not defaced.

You've got a good eye. A lot of the people doing this have learned that if they don't cover up any of the information that the law requires to be there, the car owners usually won't spend the money to paint over the graffiti, so it lasts a lot longer.
