There is no "choice of background" actually like in Mandelbulb3D - here everything (ground, mountains, sky) is made in Bryce.

I missed this when it first went up, but late or not I have to say it is superb. The materials are great but what really makes it work is the composition and the colour scheme you've used. Very nicely done!
