Beautiful mono of two roses here. Is it what we call threshold? BTW My abstract flower i posted yesterday was just an overexposed picture, that I used filters on.

What a super digifiddle! It looks as if it is coated with snow. Fine work, my friend!

I haven't got a clue why your comments started tapering off; the quality of your posts have not waned an iota, nor the inventiveness, dedication, etc. I can't fathom what causes that, but this deserves a lot more attention than it received. And this was the beginning of this terrific series, too. One can see the 'threshhold'-like treatment here; but it's so much more: The extreme balance of deep blacks with the bold whites, for one. And then the creamy textures and treatments of the whites. And the 'stipple'-like treatment of the shaded portions of the petals. And the composition itself, with that band of white on top, balancing the big area of black on the bottom. A truly fine study of the music of shade and light in flowers---the kinds of thing drawings and etchings explore. And a terrific kick-off to this series. Very thoughtfully done.
