Description

A little 1½ hour sketch I made this afternoon. Pastel on sanded paper. The paper was dark brown and it is not easy to use pastel on. Had to use fixative on it, in order to scan it, which makes it darker when the background is dark. Had used painting tape on the paper, but I had to cut it off as it was damaging the paper, when I tried to take the tape off again :-/ So no frame. I still have some pieces left with darkbrown color. So the next will be sketch too. No serious work on them. I will try to color the paper some how next time. Thank you for viewing and commenting :)

I love your little sketch! That dark brown actually looks good mixed with the blue to make a not so solid background. You are inspiring me again...but it would take me longer than 1.5 hours I can tell you that.

This is really beautiful, Helle! I deeply admire anyone who can work with pastels. I've tried, but I just end up with a huge (but very colorful) mess! LOL But you definitely have a lot of skill with this medium.

Oooohh! I like this VERY much! I think the dark brown paper adds a nice depth to the piece, making the colors richer and more mysterious. Sorry to be so late in commenting. I'm still having a hard time getting around to RR these days, but wanted you to know I was here, lurking around in your beautiful gallery. :P
