Description
Taken at the Budapest Zoo. I'm not sure why they rub their horns on wood - I suspect it's to either clean or sharpen them...
Please zoom.

Wonderful capture my friend. God bless.

Nice photo of this fellow. The rubbing of the horn is to clean it, but also to rub off the outermost layer since the horn grows continually. It is actually made of compacted hair. Keep up the good work! :-)

Lovely animals. I have been watching an attempted pairing of two at Chester Zoo on TV, who specialise in the breeding of endangered species.

I like the skin details in this shot. It is nice to know wrinkles can be beautiful since I also have many of them :)

Orphaned young have their horn filed down when released back into the wild so they wont be killed by poachers isn't that sad they cant live a normal life not that many left in the wild and could be extinct within five years :( Fantastic picture my friend :)

Maybe it itches? What a great capture of this endangered creature!
