Beautiful shot of this timber bridge and I love the reflections in the water. Yes it had rained ALL day. Also when we were going home from Copenhagen.

Oh my I am not even sure I would want to attempt crossing that old wooden bridge with that high water. This is a great black and white shot.

Yes, with Andrea (durleybeachbum), I too love the tight crop and the monotone. (A word: I don't know why we call it "monotone": It's actually many tones---it's just combinations of blacks and whites. Artists have to create a better word! Maybe there's a better word in German...) Anyway, you do very fine black and white work, with lots of fine detail and also very fine mood. Ie, the textures on the wood, the many months or years of water-stains, the light and dark, the rhythmic play of each wooden beam, and the wonderful contrasts in the waves---grays and whites and some blacks in counterpoint with each other: These make a wonderful black and white photo: In color, we would lose much of the intensity and rhythms. A wonderful shot.

(Your black and white work brings several photographers to mind. One pair is the Bechers---Bernd and Hilla. I assume you know their photography; but in case you don't, look them up on Google: They made numerous shots of water towers and other old wooden structures, with beautiful mood and detail. Their work is a little less personal than yours is, but they do come to mind. There are others your work reminds me of. You are natural in black and white---many photographers are not. Some think that all they have to do is "de-saturate" a photo, and---voila!---they have a fine photo. But it takes a lot more than that to make blacks and whites sing; and yours always sing...)
