Description
This aerial photo was taken from a helicopter as I was traveling over the Great Barrier Reef near Cairns, North Queensland. This photo only shows a FRACTION of the Great Barrier Reef as its so huge and runs along most of North Queenslands coastline
They say the Great Barrier Reef is the only living thing you can see from space it is that large. All the coral, white sand, clear blue water is a wonder to see from above. This photo truly doesn't do it justice as the large file of this you can see every detail but I'm happy to share this with you all

This is truly fantastic! I know what you mean about sometimes not being able to capture the true immense beauty of a place. I had that same feeling when I visited the Grand Canyon in the USA and other gorgeous national parks there. Sometimes the camera can only give us a small glimpse. I am glad you shared this beautiful glimpse...more please :)

I THINK its one of that eight wonders of the world. I COULD be wrong as I've been many times before :) It was incredible to see the reef all from above, a total different perspective.

My, such beauty! I like the blues and greens. And to be able to see to the bottom. And, as you say, only a fraction of the fantastic reef. Thanks for the aerial photo. A completely different way of seeing and appreciating. Keep up the good work! :-)
