Description

Town Secretary: "He left her the house and plenty of money. She spends her time caring for the wild creatures that come into the garden. He taught her to look after the plants, the animals and feed the birds" Lady Mayoress: We can't waste a house on a robot - there are human families that need to be housed. Were there no relatives he could have left it to?" TS: "He planned to leave it to a nephew, but the nephew died in an accident." LM: "How?" TS: "Fell down the stairs while visiting them. Then he said it would go to his sister; but she died in a car accident – brake failure, they said." LM: "Did he never marry?" TS: "Never wanted to, the robot says. There were girlfriends apparently, but she says none were suitable. She's been with him for years." LM: "Well the Council will just have to take it over." TS: "What about the robot?" LM: "Tell her it's for charitable use. We can give the house to the Salvation Army for its officers; they can keep her on as a maid." TS: "I wonder if she’ll appreciate their lifestyle. She thinks God is rubbish."
