Description

Yesterday I heard a loud noice and knew at once what it was. A little Serin bumped on the patio window. It doesnt happen often, but when it does, I always cover the bird in a peace of warm cloth, so it wont lose the warmth and most of the time it survive this way, but this time it died emmediately. The Serin is seldom as a breeding bird in Denmark, so it is very sad I should only be able to see it as dead instead of seeing it alive. Have a beautiful rest of the sunday. We have cloudy but peaceful weather today. No wind. Around 10C. Later in the afternoon, the fog came rolling from the field and now it is colder. Thank you for viewing and commenting.

It is always sad when they don't make it. I too always rush out to see if I can find them and revive them. This little serin is very pretty. We have a very hot day today and have had to put the air-con on. Great for this time of the year. :) 😄

Oh, poor little thing; doesn't seem to have all its feathers in yet, but I don't know this bird so I can't tell for sure.

A most excellent capture of this vivid but most poignant event, Helle. Flying so fast that this poor little serin didn't know what it hit. In any event, beautiful colors and patterns. Around 23-Celsius here with deeply overcast mornings.

How kind you are to try to save the little bird. My condolences that he did not make it. Now. at least he lives on in the archives of RR where we can see his lovely markings and wish him joyful flights in bird heaven.

Sad. Somewhere there's a daddy and maybe little ones sorrowing for their disappeared mom. But, this was an opportunity to get a close photo without it getting scared and trying to get away. Keep up the good work! :-)

Sad end for this pretty little bird. We had the same thing happen last summer, but it was a robin that hit the window going flat out. It had to have killed him/her instantly - I'm amazed it didn't crack the window.
