Description
There seems to be some confusion about whether Mark's birthday is yesterday or today & since I don't keep track of birthdays at all, I have nothing to contribute to that debate. But I do very much appreciate the positive energy, enthusiasm, humor, thoughtfulness & generosity Mark expresses in appreciation of the artists on this site & wish him the very best of birthdays for either yesterday or today!
My grandson is coming to stay with us this week for his spring break, so I may or may find the time to post photos for the next few days...

Who wouldn't want a mushroom for their birthday? This is a real winner!

Yes, with others above, enjoy your grandson! I hope it's a wonderful week. Thank you for this, Claude, I know you don't normally 'do birthdays', and I'm flattered that you made one of your occasional forays into that area for me. This is a blast of a shot, a big bold luminous little monster, with (yes) Mick Jagger lips, and it looks like a bell---sort of---or a very strange pastry, or mushroom (duh), or bell for a fairy tale cottage, or just a really beautiful primal object for your photography. I love the blues against all those whites, and then those ochre deep-red-ambers (that's a mouthful), and the contrast of those powdery white surfaces with the striations of the wood and the underside of the fungi. A real Claude treatment---it's beautiful. When I return to regular comments, I'll try to catch up on your many uploads, all of which I've seen (you did one manipulation which reminded me of classic Japanese prints, and there's so much more). But thank you for celebrating my birthday with this. I still can't stop finding things in it---a big puff pastry for fairy tale ogres? A pastry that's been left out too long? A door knocker for primal ooze? Wonderful image. Thank you so much for this, Claude.
